What is speed dating?
Speed dating is a fun matchmaking process which allows you to meet large numbers of new people in a short period of time.

You will meet each other over a series of short "dates", roughly 4 minutes long. At the end of each interval, we ring a bell to let you know to move on to the next date.
Can I come alone?
Of course! Most of our customers do!
We encourage everyone to mingle with other guests before, during and after the speed date itself.
There will be lots of conversation starter cards, as well as a few fun ideas to help get you chatting and breaking the ice. We will also have lots of alcohol to help the dutch courage!
What happens if I like someone?
At the end of the evening, you submit a list of who you would like to provide your contact information to.
If there is a match, contact information is forwarded to both parties. Contact information cannot be traded during the initial meeting, to reduce pressure to accept or reject a suitor to their face.
What if someone is being creepy?
We have a zero tolerance policy on creeps or anyone being anything less than friendly and respectable, so please report any bad behaviour to your host.

You should never feel pressured to give your contact details or stay talking to only one person. Anyone not joining in with the spirit of the speed date should be reported.
Why are they on weekdays?
Unlike Club Indulge events, speed dating is a lot more casual and allows you to meet people face to face in your local area.

Having events on weekdays means you'll meet people closer to you and will open up the choices of venues we can use. Events end by 11.30pm, so you won't feel too hungover for work the next day!
How many people will be there?
We aim to get you chatting to at least ten other people. However - we can sell the tickets, but we can't force people to show up, so we have no guarantee on numbers.
But if we do not sell enough tickets in advance, we will cancel an event with at least 48 hours notice - so it is in your best interest to purchase a ticket asap!
What should I wear?
You're not under any pressure, so we recommend something smart/casual. Events take place on work nights, so don't worry if you're coming in office gear.

We don't expect 'dress to impress', but we do recommend at least a spritz with the deodorant.
Do I have to be plus sized?
Absolutely not - anyone of any size is welcome. Traditionally, we usually have straight-sized men coming to meet plus sized women, but don't let that put you off!

We have no size policy, we just want to promote an inclusive, nonjudgemental atmosphere.
Which ticket should I buy?
We sell a limited number of Earlybird/Advance Tickets to ensure we have the minimum amount of people we need for an event to go ahead. Then we sell Standard Tickets - which are £5 more.
If you wish to speak to women, buy a BLUE ticket. If you wish to speak to men, buy a RED ticket.
RED ticket holders will remain seated whilst BLUE ticket holders will move around
What is the cancellation policy?
We promise that we will do everything we can to sell enough tickets to make it a viable event. However, if we have not sold enough 48 hours before the speed date is due to begin , we will have to cancel as we want you to have a great night meeting people - not a hostage situation.
We will let you know via email, so please use an address you can be contacted on when purchasing tickets. You will receive a full refund within 3-5 working days.
If we have to cancel an event, it is unlikely we will return to that area, so don't 'wait until next time'!
Who will run the event?
Plus Size Speed Dating is a Club Indulge event. Club Indulge has been running events for Plus Size Party animals in London for over ten years, and we know how to make a fun, friendly, non-judgemental atmosphere.
On hand will be a host who will guide you through the event and make you all feel at ease. Depending on numbers, we may also have more people to help you start chatting!

We try to make our events as accessible as possible, but not all venues are suitable for mobility aids. We aim to find as many as we can, but it's not always possible.

Do I have to be straight and single?
Nope :)
​
We're happy to meet anyone in an open/Poly/ENM relationship, as long as you are open and honest with your 'dates' about what you are looking for. You will have ample opportunity to let them know.
We also welcome anyone who is LGBTQ - just purchase the ticket which best describes who you are looking to chat to.
